Sorry to hear that. I used to run www.auralfitness.com and we ultimately shut it down because the hassle of dealing with sleazebag bait and switch hosting operations. One of them gave me 3TB of bandwidth and then shut me down because I was using "too many resources" after going over 300gb. It's a shady racket.... Can't wait for you to get back!
ReplyDeleteAh, I've noticed that there's a bandwidth limit on box.net myself. Unlimited bandwidth is just an out-and-out lie, apparently. Good luck getting it resolved!

ReplyDeleteBluehost claim they booted me for having copyrighted material. The real reason was 30gigs of transfer a day for an account advertised as having unlimited bandwidth, I was chewing up more bandwidth dollars than the cost of my monthly subscription fee. Bluehost may be a solution for bloggers that have under 3gigs a day of transfer - I go through 250,000 downloads a month, so that doesn't work for me.

ReplyDeleteNo worries, folks: after a VERY big month, and just a day or two before my bandwidth usually resets, I've merely learned why most bloggers do not keep archives open forever. Two TERAbytes of bandwidth in less than a month may not be "unlimited", but it sure is a heck of a lot, and I take partial responsibility for letting it get that bad.
ReplyDeleteFong: As you tend to remove archived files within a few weeks, I suspect you'd have to have several hundred times the traffic I'm currently getting in order to bump into the same problem. Assuming box.net is willing to reinstate my file access when my "month" ends, I'll probably start doing the same re: archives...but I'll keep you posted, no worries.
You may have not intended to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through. Please come visit my site homegrown when you got time.
